My name is Justine, I’m 35 years old, and I’m originally from Liège, Belgium. However, I’ve also lived in the UK, in London, worked in Luxembourg, and I’m now living in the beautiful city of Split, Croatia.
I started sewing in 2017 and never stopped. Completely self-taught, I learned through countless tutorials (thank you, YouTube!), reading sewing magazines, and exchanging ideas with other creators. At the end of 2023, I chose to leave a secure salaried position that I had held for over seven years to create my own project—one that truly makes sense to me.
My goal is to offer you more responsible and ethical fashion. I also aim to provide strong, unique pieces that brighten your everyday life and make you feel good.
CreaSew was born from an observation: too much fast fashion, too many clothes thrown away and ending up in landfills on the other side of the planet, and countless collections… Ultimately, there are already enough fabrics and garments in existence to clothe everyone.
CreaSew is a small brand of accessories and clothing focused on upcycling and recycling. The brand offers unique, handmade pieces crafted from recycled textiles or sometimes from deadstock fabrics. Sheets, tablecloths, curtains, and clothes are sourced from thrift stores or individuals to offer you original, one-of-a-kind pieces. You won’t find the same thing in stores!
Upcycling in sewing is a way to give unused fabrics and materials new value by creating high-quality pieces from them.
My goal is ultimately to take all those fabrics lying around in our closets and give them a second life, allowing everyone to wear them. It’s about transforming grandma’s tablecloth into a stunning jacket, repurposing your mother-in-law’s curtains to make a super practical tote bag, or creating a fanny pack from your sister’s long coat.
The values of CreaSew are as follows: prioritizing the reuse of materials to reduce waste, ensuring fair pricing, producing in limited quantities to avoid overproduction and the buildup of unsold clothing and accessories. It’s also a commitment to the quality of the materials used.
